The School of Education, Communication and Sports since the creation of the Polytechnic, has played a relevant role in the development of both region and country.

The learning areas – Education, Communication and Sport – are fundamental pillars in defining the essence of the human being, as an individual or as a central element of community life, a place where humanity is accomplished.

The constant and rapid evolution of society demands we provide responsible and efficient responses to the challenges it poses.

In this sense, the professionals we train will continue to play a decisive role in the fundamental areas of Education and Communication, as central activities of Knowledge, and also of Sport, underlined by the awareness of the fundamental role it plays in the health and well-being of the individual and populations

Adult Education

This course teaches how to plan, develop, monitor, mediate and evaluate adult education activities, independently or under guidance, providing adapted and specific responses regarding opportunities to make successful changes throughout life.

Communication, Protocol and Events Organization

The Communication, Protocol and Event Organization professional is a multifaceted communication expert with practical and specific skills in the design, planning and coordination of communication, of protocol and of national and international events, with the aim of generating business, providing leisure and promotion opportunities for organizations.

Digital Communication

The Professional Technician in Digital Communication must have transversal skills of social and organizational communication, allowing him to, autonomously or integrated into a team, design, develop and produce information and communication content directed at the digital society.

Gerontology

This course aims to train professionals who can contribute, autonomously or under supervision, to the well-being of the elderly, meeting their daily needs in terms of health, cognitive and emotional state, protection and social assistance as well as participating or coordinating the management services of support equipment for this population.

ICT and Education

The ICT and Education technician conceives and develops, autonomously or in a team, educational and business actions and projects using ICT: management of social networks, business communication or training processes promoting the development of digital and media literacy.

Intercultural Relations and Social Intervention

This training enables intercultural dialogue and to ensure understanding between people of different cultures and various public and private institutions and social intervention organizations, preparing both the social integration of migrants and their reception.

Media Reporter

The Media Reporter is the professional who can manage and execute processes of capturing and editing sound and both still and moving image, independently or integrated in teams, using appropriate technology and software: The aim is to create photographic, audio-visual, and multimedia content.

Mountain Sports

This technical course aims to provide the skills to plan, organize, coordinate, and execute programs and activities in mountain sports, based on qualified scientific, technical, and pedagogical knowledge in the area.

Multimedia and Performing Arts

This course provides the skills to design actions, events, resources and projects that stimulate the promotion and revitalization of the material and immaterial heritage of the territories, from a multi and interdisciplinary perspective that articulates the areas of audio-visual and multimedia with the performing arts.

Outdoor Nature Guide

An Outdoor Nature Guide carries out, independently or in a team, projects for the education on natural and cultural heritage and their interpretation, contributing to the promotion of a knowledge of the territories and raising the awareness for their sustainability.

Public Relations for Tourism

With this course, the professional gains tools to plan, develop and implement communication and marketing strategies in an organizational environment, through a communicational approach that allows the building of a relationship of trust with the desired target audiences.

Risk Management and Civil Protection

This course trains professionals to act in the prevention and assessment of risks, and in protecting people, goods and structures in scenarios of crisis, emergency and/or catastrophe.

Sports Coaching

This course enables professionals to design, execute and supervise training activities and sports competitions, using new technologies for personal and competitive development of young practitioners.

Technical Monitoring of Children and Youth

The Monitor of Children and Youth is the professional who, independently or in a team, guides, supports, and supervises children and young people of school age, promoting the valorisation of human training, the promotion of personal and social education and the acquisition and development of skills.

Bachelor's Degrees

Basic Education

The graduate in Education will have a set of skills allowing him to carry out technical functions in education, either directly in contact with children, young people, or adults, or in the planning and evaluation phases.

Communication and Public Relations

The public relations professional/communicator will have a general working knowledge of all social and organizational communication techniques and specific to public relations. The professional must be capable of efficient and critical use of new communication and information technologies, without neglecting the ability to interact directly and closely with others, with flexibility and the ability to adapt to new social, cultural, economic and communicational contexts and paradigms.

Gerontological Social Education

The graduate in Gerontological Social Education will have a set of skills that allow them to perform different functions in promoting the well-being of the elderly, as recommended in the training references for healthy aging.

Multimedia Communication

This degree aims to train professionals capable of solving and/or proposing solutions for communication problems by integrating theoretical and practical knowledge and through the design and development of multimedia and multi-platform products.

Sociocultural Animation

At the end of their training, the graduate in Sociocultural Animation has a list of competencies to intervene in the various contexts of Sociocultural Animation of community life and also to conceive, dynamize, develop and evaluate sociocultural projects, diagnose social and cultural problems in contexts of intervention and articulate between sociocultural equipments, institutions, services and self-promoted entrepreneurial practices. The ultimate goal is to promote the quality of life of the community.

Sports

Graduates in Sports are able to establish and guide sports training programs and physical preparation, carry out the evaluation and control of training, participate in the technical management of clubs, training schools, sports associations or federations, health clubs, gyms and companies, and integrate sports promotion teams, at the associative, municipal, business or media level.

Sports, Fitness and Health

The degree in Sports, Fitness and Health aims to provide solid training in exercise aimed at promoting health in apparently healthy populations or with certain special or clinical conditions. It thus intends to train professionals to work with competence and commitment, in fitness and health, in different organizations/entities.

Sports Sciences

This Master’s in Sports Science, in the variants of Sports Training or Academic Sports, seeks to qualify professionals for knowledgeable practices in clubs, sports entities, academies, laboratories, etc. so that they can respond to the demanding expectations of the job market, basing their new skills on the latest scientific research.
